Grand Canada Railway Hotels | Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

INTRODUCTION

Nestled within the breathtaking expanse of Jasper National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge offers a quintessential Canadian Rockies experience. Spanning 700 acres along the serene shores of Lac Beauvert, this year-round luxury mountain resort combines rustic charm with modern elegance, making it a premier destination for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation.

The origins of the lodge trace back to 1915 with the establishment of "Tent City," a modest setup of ten tents catering to early tourists. Recognizing the area's potential, the Canadian National Railway acquired the site in 1921, transforming it into Jasper Park Lodge. By June 1922, the resort welcomed guests to eight log cabins, and in 1923, unveiled a grand central lodge—hailed at the time as the world's largest single-story log structure . Over the decades, the lodge has hosted numerous notable figures, including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during their 1939 royal tour.

The lodge boasts 442 guest accommodations, ranging from cozy rooms to luxurious Signature Cabins. These heritage log cabins, some with up to eight bedrooms, provide an intimate connection to nature without compromising on comfort .
